Description: Charleston Southern University invites applications for a faculty position in the AMTA-approved Music Therapy Program within the NASM-accredited Horton School of Music beginning August 1, 2009.
Qualifications: Doctorate in Music Therapy or a related field, including a minimum of 18 graduate hours in music therapy required; applicants who are ABD will be considered; music therapy board certification and three years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) clinical music therapy experience required; supervisory experience required; college teaching experience preferred.
Charleston Southern seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and who are committed to excellence in teaching and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning.
Responsibilities: Teach core undergraduate music therapy courses; supervise pre-internship field experiences. Other responsibilities dependent upon applicant qualification and School of Music needs. Additional responsibilities will include serving on university committees and other departmental and college activities, as assigned.
